Canadian Court Support Resource
We are beyond proud to share our latest resource, a comprehensive guide for mothers (and professionals) through the complexities of a Hague case in Canada. The plan is to use this as a template for additional versions, country by country.
As far as we know, this is the first of its kind, a vital, possibly life-saving guide, drawn from the knowledge and experience of victim-survivors who are generously sharing their expertise to help others. In the words of the authors:
Navigating a Hague case can be frightening, exhausting, and lonely, especially when it is happening across borders and in the context of intimate partner violence, coercive control, or family violence. Try to be gentle with yourself. You do not have to manage everything alone or perfectly. Take things one step at a time: get safe, seek legal advice, gather support, and care for yourself and your child as best you can. Where possible, reach out to trusted family, friends, advocates, shelters, legal services, and other Hague mothers who understand what this experience can feel like. You are not alone.
With heartfelt thanks to the Hague mothers, legal contributors, reviewers and advocates who made this happen. You are simply the best.
